외교부, 주한 일본대사 초치 "日백색국가 제외 극히 유감... 日설명 설득력 없어"

South Korea's First Vice Foreign Minister summoned the Japanese ambassador in Seoul this afternoon and expressed "deep regret" over Japan's decision to take Seoul off its export whitelist.
Cho Sei-young asked that Tokyo withdraw its export curbs on three items otherwise, Seoul will take what measures it needs to.
Japanese ambassador Yasumasa Nagamine answered... that the export curbs are part of a review of Japan's export controls, not a complete ban on exports to South Korea.
The Japanese ambassador said there have been various problems between the two countries since last year, and called on Seoul instead to work to recover bilateral trust.
South Korea's vice minister, in turn, responded that Japan's explanations are inconsistent... and once again expressed deep disappointment.
