S. Korea's Trade Minister slams Japan's latest export curbs on Seoul
  • 5 years ago
Seoul's top trade official has hit out at Japan for removing South Korea from its "whitelist" of countries that enjoy preferential trade treatment.
Upon returning from a meeting in Beijing of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership,... Trade Minister Yoo Myung-hee criticized Tokyo's measures in a Facebook post Sunday, saying they violate global free trade norms, including those of the WTO.
She also urged Tokyo to have a sense of responsibility as its moves against Seoul could have serious repercussions for the global supply chain of various products.
She also stressed how several members of the 16-nation free trade bloc, (arh-sep) RCEP, also condemned Japan's moves.
