Moon highlights importance of veterans' affairs to Korean Peninsula peace

This Thursday, South Korea will observe Memorial Day.
And ahead of that, President Moon is emphasizing the importance of respect and honor for those who served and sacrificed for the Republic of Korea.
He was at a luncheon with veterans and their families, where he said veterans affairs are important to a country that's in deparate need of peace.
Here's the president.
"By taking care of veterans affairs properly, we will improve public awareness of national security, strengthen the foundation of peace and promote national unity."
Moon also said his government will do its best to treat persons of national merit, their families and descendants with respect... and give them more support.
