S. Korea, Philippines begin FTA negotiations

South Korea and the Philippines have begun negotiating a free trade agreement here in Seoul on Monday.... with the goal of concluding the talks by November.
South Korea's trade minister Yoo Myung-hee said the FTA will open up trade and investment opportunities by securing economic partners in Southeast and Northeast Asia.
It's also expected to help promote the Moon administration's so-called New Southern Policy.
The Philippines is already part of a trade agreement with Seoul through the ASEAN-Korea Free Trade Area, which took effect in 2010.
