President Moon Jae-in will be briefed on the current situation in Budapest following last Wednesday's deadly boat collusion on the Danube River.
He will be brought up to speed by Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha who is back in Seoul after traveling to Hungary late last week to oversee the search mission.
Shortly after the crash, President Moon ordered the formation of a government-level response team headed by Kang.
The president is reportedly set to convey a message to the Korean people on the sinking once he is briefed by his top diplomat.
