President Moon discusses food aid to N. Korea with WFP head

President Moon Jae-in met with the WFP's Executive Director to discuss humanitarian food aid to North Korea.
According to the top office,… David Beasley briefed the South Korean leader on the WFP’s recent joint research with the Food and Agriculture Organization on the North’s worsening food situation, underscoring the need for urgent humanitarian assistance.
Moon agreed to cooperate closely with the WFP on ways to deliver food aid to the regime.
He also added that South Korea will not forget the help it received from the WFP in the past, at times of tremendous hardships,… and promised to actively provide support for the international body in other issues as well.
