South Korea's two biggest opposition parties are demanding that Constitutional Court justice nominee Lee Mi-sun... voluntarily step down.
The Liberty Korea Party and the Bareun Mirae Party claim Lee is unfit for the job.
During her confirmation hearing on Wednesday,... she came under fire for making money on stocks allegedly using insider information and presiding over a suit involving a company in which she holds shares.
Lee and her husband own over 3-point-7 million U.S. dollars in assets,... with stocks making up more than 80 percent of that figure.
Minor opposition parties also questioned Lee's morality,... while some ruling party lawmakers have voiced concerns regarding her nomination as well.
This has triggered another round of political wrangling at the National Assembly over the presidential office's controversial nominations.
Recently, two minister nominees fell through on ethical lapses,... while another two were appointed, without parliamentary approval.
