President Moon Jae-in has proceeded with the appointment of two new Cabinet ministers.
At the same time, he's asking parliament to adopt reports on the confirmation reports of three others so their appointments can go ahead.
The presidential office said Tuesday evening that the President asked for the reports to be approved by Sunday at the latest.
Those reports would apply to Kim Yeon-chul for minister of unification, Park Young-sun for SMEs and Startups and Chin Young for interior and safety.
The opposition parties have called for their nominations to be withdrawn, calling them unqualified, and they've warned that they will not cooperate in parliament unless the president pulls them.
Approved already... are culture minister Park Yang-woo and oceans minister Moon Seong-hyeok, whose terms will begin on Wednesday.
