President Moon Jae-in has asked parliament to send reports on the confirmation hearings for his six minister nominees by Friday, including Cho Kuk.
Hearings have been held for five of them, but not for Cho.
The president's senior secretary for public communication said today that Moon wants to go ahead and appoint them soon after he gets back from overseas this Friday.
The hearing for Cho Kuk, nominee for justice minister, was supposed to be held on Monday and Tuesday but that's fallen through because of corruption allegations surrounding him and his family.
Adopting a report after a confirmation hearing is parliament's way of expressing approval of the president's nominees, but it's not legally required.
In fact, under the Moon administration, 16 high-level officials have been appointed without one.
