As part of efforts to reduce fine dust, the South Korean government will drastically lower the import duty on liquified natural gas starting next month.
The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy announced on Tuesday,... the current import duty of twenty U.S. cents per kilogram of LNG will be reduced to around 3 cents, down eighty-four percent.
On the other hand, the import duty on coal will be increased from the current 30 cents to around 40 cents.
The government estimates the move will reduce fine dust emissions by around 4-hundred tons a year.
