카카오, 카풀 시범 서비스 중단…"택시와 대화 마련"

Kakao Corporation decided to temporarily halt the car-sharing app... due to the strong backlash it created among cab drivers.
In a statement released on Tuesday, the Korean IT giant said it decided to temporarily suspend the pilot project... while it negotiates with the taxi industry and the task force the Democratic Party has been hoping to create.
The parliament's ruling bloc has been seeking to set up a task force consisting of the heads of major taxi organizations to resolve the dispute, but the industry refused to cooperate, demanding that the car-pool service be stopped first.
Now that their demands are met, the democratic party urged the cab sector to join the task force and solve the problem together.
In protest of the Kakao app, a taxi driver even set himself on fire.
