S. Korea suspends discount program for domestic travel

South Korea's culture ministry has decided to halt its domestic travel discount coupon program due to the recent surge in COVID-19 cases.
The promotion, worth some 76 million U.S. dollars, was part of a project to revitalize local spending in the arts and leisure sectors which were hit hard by the pandemic.
Discount coupons which have already been distributed can be used but only under strict social distancing guidelines.
There are no plans to issue any new coupons.
