Kenya's Eliud Kipchoge sets new marathon world record in Berlin

Kenya's Olympic marathon champion Eliud Kipchoge has set a new world record, winning Sunday's Berlin marathon in 2 hours, 1 minute and 39 seconds.
The 33-year-old managed to shave off a staggering 78 seconds off the previous record set by fellow Kenyan Dennis Kimetto four years ago.
Kipchoge is widely seen as the greatest marathon runner of the modern era.
He has won 10 of the 11 marathons he has competed in, and also won a gold medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
In another victory for Kenyan athletics, Gladys Cherono won the women's race in 2 hours, 18 minutes and 11 seconds, setting a new women's record for the course in Berlin.
