S. Korea's FM says ASEAN states positive about Seoul's policies

South Korea's foreign minister Kang Kyung-wha held a press briefing Sunday morning in Singapore about the results of this year's ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting.
Minister Kang said there were three main takeaways from this year's meetings -- the ASEAN states' support for the Moon administration's New Southern Policy, her encounter with North Korean foreign minister Ri Yong-ho and the participating nations' support for change on the Korean Peninsula.
She said, with the recent developments in Pyongyang's denuclearization, the overall atmosphere of the meetings was very positive and supportive of the Moon administration's efforts.
She did not elaborate on what she discussed with the North's foreign minister Friday night when he rejected South Korea's request for bilateral talks.
But in that brief encounter at a gala dinner, she said the two did have sincere discussions about complete denuclearization... and about the progress so far with Washington.
