China's top diplomat is set to fly over to North Korea this week.
According to foreign ministry spokesperson Lu Kang-- the visit will take place this Wednesday and Thursday,... at the invitation of Wang Yi's North Korean counterpart Ri Yong-ho.
This comes just days after the groundbreaking inter-Korean event, and weeks ahead of the Washington-Pyongyang summit, expected to take place in late May.
The move reflects Beijing's willingness to play a role in helping to establish peace on the Korean Peninsula.
