National Assembly to hold final plenary session of February session
  • 6 years ago
The National Assembly will hold its last plenary session of this month's parliamentary session later this afternoon.
Among the bills that'll be up for a full floor vote include one aimed at reducing Korea's notoriously long working hours.
However, it's not clear how much progress will be made,... since the parties have been clashing over the visit to South Korea by North Korean General Kim Yong-chol, who led the North's delegation at the closing ceremony of the PyeongChang Winter Olympics.
Kim is a key official in the North's ruling party handling inter-Korean affairs,... and his links to multiple attacks on South Korea have caused controversy.
The main opposition Liberty Korea Party wants to question government ministers about that first,... while the ruling Democratic Party says voting on the bills is more urgent.
