National Assembly likely to hold plenary session Monday to vote on two pending bills

South Korea's National Assembly is due to hold a plenary session in the coming hours to vote on the government's extra budget... as well as a bill that calls for a special probe into an online opinion rigging scandal.
The session had initially been rescheduled twice before being called off,... as rival parties were at odds over the specifics of the three-point-six billion U.S. dollar extra budget bill.
But, on Sunday evening,... they managed to fine-tune the details... with a subcommittee of the assembly's budget committee passing the revised version -- which is roughly 20 million dollars less than the initial proposal.
Rival parties have also reached an agreement over the scope and duration of the special probe.
The parties had agreed to vote on both issues at the same time,... as part of a compromise to end six weeks of inactivity.
Rival parties agreed to hold a plenary session on Monday morning... on the premise that the deliberation of the extra budget is complete.
