Last Sunday, two jihadist gunmen armed with assault rifles targeted an Anti-Islam art contest in Garland, Texas. After a shootout that lasted less than a minute, the police managed to kill the two men. Elton Simpson was the first of the gunmen to be identified and had a history of run-ins with the FBI since 2006.

The second gunman's identity has been revealed. Nafir Soofi was reportedly Elton's roommate and lived peacefully for many years with their neighbors in Phoenix.

The families of both gunmen are in disbelief and told reporters that they cannot comprehend why they went down this path of death and destruction.
