Hi I'm Scott Mayer. I'm the mixologist here at Miami's oldest bar in Cabaret, Tobacco Road.

Ok, so lets make a Martini. Its probably the most classic of cocktails. The way we do it here is called 'in-out martini'. So we fill our cocktail shaker with ice. We use a little bit of dry vermouth. That goes in. Then its strained out of the glass. So basically we're just seasoning the ice, just adding a little bit of the vermouth to flavor the cocktail.

Then, we're going to go ahead and add gin. Classic martinis are made with gin. Give a couple of ounces there, the gin. Then, I know James Bond likes his Martini shaken and not stirred, but here at Tobacco Road and the classic way is to stir a martini. So we're going to go ahead and stir it, to get it nice and cold.

Pull out a nice chilled martini glass. Take our jeweled strainer back over the glass. Strain out our drink. Now, we're going to go ahead and garnish that with two olives. The olives we use here are stuffed with cornichons which are small French pickles. Go ahead and garnish the drink. And there it is, your classic martini.
