KOSPI surpasses 2,800 points for the first time on vaccine deals

Just two weeks after it crossed 27-hundred, South Korea's main stock index, the KOSPI has passed another milestone,... closing above 28-hundred points for the first time.
Investors were encouraged by the prospect of an end to the pandemic and an economic recovery... as the country sealed deals to buy COVID-19 vaccines from Pfizer and Janssen.
The KOSPI reached an intra-session high of 28-12, closing at just under 28-07... for a gain of 1-point-7 percent.
The tech-heavy KOSDAQ closed at around 9-hundred-29,... an increase of point-six percent.
