U.S. hit record-high daily average of COVID-19 cases over past week, Japan sees highest number of hospitalized patients

The U.S. has hit an all-time high daily average for COVID-19 infections.
According to data from Johns Hopkins University, the U.S. saw a record-high average of 1-hundred 96-thousand 233 cases over the past seven days.
The record comes after the country reported the highest single-day tally at over 2-hundred 27-thousand cases last Friday.
The number of hospitalized patients in the U.S. reached 1-hundred and 1-thousand on Sunday,… marking the highest tally since the outbreak of the pandemic.
Meanwhile, Japan also reached a grim milestone as the number of critically ill COVID-19 patients rose to an all-time high on Monday.
The health ministry reported 530 patients, up 11 from Sunday.
