영국, 코로나19 백신 접종 개시…첫 접종자는 90세 할머니

A groundbreaking moment in the coronavirus pandemic.
A 90-year-old British woman named Margaret Keenan has become the first person in the world to be vaccinated against COVID-19.
The first of two doses of the Pfizer and BioNTech vaccine was administered at around 6:30 AM Tuesday, local time.
This comes less than a week after the country granted emergency-use approval.
After receiving the vaccination, Mrs. Keenan had this to say...

"Well, I would say go for it. Go for it because it's free and it's the best thing that has ever happened. If I can do it, so can you."

Mrs. Keenan added that she feels privileged to be the first... and will go back for the second dose in about three to four weeks.
The UK has ordered 40 million doses of the vaccine, enough for around a third of its population.
An order has also been placed with Moderna for an additional seven million doses of its vaccine which could be approved for emergency use within a few weeks.
