'Night of terror' - Bank heist and gun battle shocks Brazil

An armed gang robbed a bank in Brazil's southern city of Criciuma,... in a heist of extraodinary scale and violence.
They set off explosives, took hostages,... and fired weapons at police.
Some 30 people were involved in the operation,... which lasted for two hours.
The mayor called Monday's assault a "night of terror".
"Hello everyone; I'm here at city hall after having lived through a true night of terror. Unfortunately, we had a police officer who was injured and a security guard who was also hurt."
The gang fled with an undisclosed amount of money, leaving some of the cash scattered on the street.
This hold up adds to the wave of violent bank robberies Brazil has been seeing in recent years.
