U.S. reports the most daily deaths as more than 100,000 are in hospitals from COVID-19

The COVID-19 situation in the U.S. continues to deteriorate with the country's daily deaths tally reaching an all-time high.
With the continuous rise in confirmed cases, the country's hospitals and medical workers are feeling the pressure.
In response, the White House task force on the pandemic is highlighting the risk the virus poses to all Americans and is urging state governments to step up virus prevention efforts.

The COVID-19 situation in the U.S. continues to worsen as the country's daily death toll reached an all-time high of more than 2-thousand 7-hundred.
According to the COVID Tracking Project, this puts the total number of deaths in the U.S. to more than 2-hundred-64 thousand.
Meanwhile, hospitals and front-line workers are feeling the pressure.
There are more than 100-thousand COVID-19 inpatients across the country,... a three-fold jump from two months ago... and the longest constant rise since the outbreak began.
States like Arizona, where 3-thousand 8-hundred more cases were reported on Wednesday, are reaching their capacity in terms of medical infrastructure.
"And then, by the New Year, or early in the new year, there will probably be enough COVID cases to fill the hospitals and of course that means there will be fewer beds available for people with other illnesses."
In the meantime, the White House COVID-19 Task Force has issued strong warnings to state governments,... stressing that the risk the pandemic poses to all Americans is at a historic high.
Citing weekly reports distributed to state governments,... CNN reported that the task force is urging public health officials at local level to intensify their response measures... as the country has an extremely high COVID-19 baseline and with an increasingly limited hospital capacity.
The report added that a further post-Thanksgiving bump in cases will compromise patient care as well as medical services.
The Center for Disease Control and Prevention predicted the U.S. could see between 150-thousand and 200-thousand new COVID-19 fatalities by early February.
Saying the risk would remain significant for years to come,... the CDC chief encouraged the use of intensified virus prevention efforts.
