Japan's PM Seeks stronger Indo-Pacific cooperation with ASEAN

Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga is seeking to strengthen cooperation with ASEAN to realize a free, open Indo-Pacific region.
In a virtual conference with ASEAN leaders on Thursday, Suga expressed Tokyo's readiness to support ASEAN's integration to improve the region's transportation and trade infrastructure.
Suga said he strongly supports ASEAN's Indo-Pacific vision,... adding they have much in common on fundamental issues.
ASEAN leaders also discussed international challenges like North Korea's nuclear program as well as the regime's abductions of foreign nationals.
