Seoul and Washington have reaffirmed their iron-clad military alliance.
South Korea's defense chief Song Young-moo... met with Admiral Philip Davidson, the man in charge of U.S. Indo-Pacific Command... to discuss ways to strengthen military cooperation.
According to the ministry,... the officials agreed this year will be a water-shed moment in the peninsula's denuclearization,... and that close consultation between the two allies will be more important than ever before.
Song also marked the 68th anniversary of the outbreak of the Korean War by expressing his gratitude to American veterans.
This was Davidson's maiden visit to Seoul since becoming the Pacific Commander in late May.
His predecessor, Admiral Harry Harris, is nominated as the new U.S. ambassador to South Korea.
