조 바이든 누구인가?

Joe Biden served in the U.S. Senate for decades before becoming Vice President under Barack Obama.
He's led a life of many triumphs but also two failed presidential campaigns... and tragic loss in his personal life.
Our Bae Eun-ji has this report.
Born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, Joe Biden was the first of four children.
On Election Day, he even visited the exact house that he used to live in.
"Hey everybody How are you? It's good to be home."
When he was ten, the Biden family moved to Delaware, where he went to college... before going on to earn his law degree.
Afterwards in 1972, he became one of the youngest people ever to be elected to the U.S. Senate at age 29.
But weeks later, tragedy struck when his wife and daughter were killed and two sons were critically injured in a road accident.
He remarried in 1977.
From 1973 to 2009, Joe Biden served in the U.S. Senate representing Delaware, before eight years as vice president under the Obama administration.
Throughout his 36-year Senate career, Biden mounted presidential campaigns two times in 1998 and 2008.
In 2015, his son Beau Biden died of brain cancer.
Before departing the White House at the end of his term as vice president, he was awarded the nation’s highest civilian award.
"For the final time as president, I am pleased to award our nation's highest civilian honor, The Presidential Medal of Freedom."
Looking back on Joe Biden's lifelong political career, it took 48 years for one of the youngest-ever Senators to become the oldest president in the country.
