A Russian spacecraft carrying three astronauts successfully reached the International Space Station on Wednesday, in just three hours and three minutes setting a new record for the shortest flight to the ISS.
The spacecraft made only two orbits around the Earth, using a fast-track maneuver for the first time.
Normally the trip would take twice as long, requiring four orbits of the Earth.
The three astronauts that made the trip two from the Russian space agency and one U.S. astronaut from NASA will stay on the station for the next 177 days.
The trio had spent more than a month in quarantine before their departure, and underwent several COVID-19 tests.
