Over in the U.S., the 2020 Democratic National Convention kicked off on Monday with a two-hour virtual event, amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
The first night included speeches from former U.S. First Lady Michelle Obama, and former presidential candidate Bernie Sanders.

The four-night Democratic National Convention has finally begun... but the event is taking place largely online, amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Focusing on the theme of "Uniting America," the virtual convention stretches from Monday through Thursday, airing from 9 PM to 11 PM Eastern Time.
Key issues brought up on Monday included the pandemic, the economic downturn, and racial injustice.
The highlight of the first night was a speech from former U.S. First Lady Michelle Obama.
"I know Joe, he is a profoundly decent man. Guided by faith. He was a terrific vice president. He knows what it takes to rescue an economy, beat back a pandemic and lead our country."
Other speakers on Monday included once-Democratic presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders, Republican former Ohio governor John Kasich, and New York Governor, Andrew Cuomo.
The brother of George Floyd, whose death in Minneapolis started anti-racism protests all across the U.S., led a powerful tribute and moment of silence at the opening of the convention.
Joe Biden and his running mate Kamala Harris will deliver their speeches later this week.
As Democrats aim to boost Biden with its convention, U.S. President Donald Trump and the Republican Party have scheduled rallies in several battleground states this week.
Trump on Monday made stops in Minnesota and Wisconsin and criticized Democrats for pre-recording some speeches.
He also claimed the only way he'll lose the November 3rd election is if it is "rigged".
