한미연합훈련 16∼28일 시행…오늘 사전연습 돌입

The South Korean and U.S. militaries are scheduled to carry out their annual joint summertime exercise from August 16th to 28th.
Multiple South Korean military sources say the allies began four days of crisis management staff training on Tuesday preliminary training for the computer-simulated command post exercise.
This year's exercise has been scaled down due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
The simulations are aimed at improving joint defense posture of the two countries in the peninsula.
Conducting the exercises are to improve South Korea's state of readiness for the future transfer of wartime operational control from Washington to Seoul.
