S. Korea-U.S. joint air drills will be smaller in scope than Vigilant Ace exercise: Pentagon

The Pentagon has confirmed its joint air exercise with South Korea, which is expected to take place this month, will be smaller in scale than previously envisioned.
At a press briefing Thursday, the Vice Director of the U.S. Joint Staff William Byrne said Seoul and Washington will conduct the joint drills, which were suspended last year amid denuclearization talks with North Korea,... but they will be smaller than the usual wintertime exercise, Vigilant Ace.
The joint exercise plan prompted an angry response from Pyeongyang,... which insists it would violate the agreement reached between North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and U.S. President Donald Trump at last year's Singapore summit.
