주말동안 즐길만한 전시 및 공연... 마이 디어 피노키오전

We are back with our Friday Life and Culture segment.
And our Kim Bo-kyoung once again joins us in the studio... with recommendations for exhibitions and performances to enjoy over the weekend.
Bo-kyoung, what do you have for us this week?
Hi, Junghee... this week I visited the 'Pinocchio Art Exhibition' at Seoul Arts Center. We all know Pinocchio, but most of us know just the Walt Disney version.
This exhibition explores other reinterpretations of Pinocchio.
Let's take a look.
There are so many Pinocchios,... yet they all look different.
Pinocchio first appeared as a protagonist in the fairy tale 'The Adventures of Pinocchio', written by Italian author Carlo Collodi and is a story that's still loved even 130 years after its creation.
Many people remember this beloved puppet because of the Walt Disney animated movie,... yet the character has been continuously recreated in various ways through animation, live-action films and even theatrical plays.
Thus, to have a chance to reconsider and create unique reinterpretations of the character,... 'The Pinocchio Art Exhibition' was created.
Various talented artists including the well-known illustrator Anthony Browne have participated in this recreating Pinocchio project. But, while some artists have been faithful to the original, others have reinvented the character with a new face and a new voice.
"Well-known artists have been reinterpreting the story of 'Pinocchio'. One pop-up book artist created this artwork where it feels as if you are in the mouth of a giant whale."
"Among so many pieces of wonderful artwork, the well-known master of Spain's contemporary art Antonio Saura's works are worthy of attention. He fused his radical artistic techniques to the story of Pinocchio for his grandchildren...and allows us to imagine what a 21st century Pinocchio might look like."
'The Pinocchio Art Exhibition' is open in Seoul Arts Center's Hangaram Art Museum until October 4th, with English-translations provided throughout the exhibition.
I would love to see some of those interpretations of Pinocchio. Bo-kyoung, are there any other cultural events to enjoy this weekend?
Sure, people who are visiting Seoul Arts Center for the Pinocchio exhibition might also enjoy the play 'The Dandelion`s Story' which is the first show of the 'Kids and Family Festival'.
Two other shows, a play 'The Summer of Esme' and a non-verbal performance 'Ne Ne Ne' will follow in August, so don't miss them.
'Toulouse-Lautrec' is an encore exhibition showcasing the work of a French artist who depicted the French Bohemian lifestyle, mostly the scenes from Moulin Rouge on canvas.
For people looking for an uplifting musical, the steady-seller '42nd Street' shows a magnificent display of tap dancing,... and for those who want to see an imaginative take on God and religion, 'Freud's Last Session' would be a good call.
There are also some online performances. Korean Symphony Orchestra playing Mozart will be broadcas
