The Seoul City Government opened a start-up hub in the city's Seongsu district that will foster IT venture companies.
The city says it hopes to help start-ups that solve urban problems, such as health, security, environment and infectious diseases.
Up to 25 start-ups can move in after evaluation.
Companies can stay for up to two years and pay monthly rent of just five dollars per square meter.
Space is also provided for mobile test-beds and for investors that invest in businesses that have a positive impact on society.
