S. Korea to hold nationwide shopping festival to boost consumption

To boost sluggish consumer spending, South Korea will hold a nationwide shopping festival at the end of June.
Finance minister Hong Nam-ki said Thursday that people will able to enjoy a variety of special online sales and discount coupons during the two-week-long festival.
It is expected to lift the burden off local SMEs and small business owners who are struggling due to the pandemic.
And to support local auto parts firms, South Korea will also set up a guarantee fund of over 4-hundred million U.S. dollars.
The government will buy around 9-thousand-5-hundred cars earlier than planned this year to help auto firms.
