S. Korea reports 40 new COVID-19 cases as new cluster emerges

We begin tonight with new cluster infections of COVID-19 in this country.
South Korea reported the highest daily number of new coronavirus cases in 49 days today... the country’s largest e-commerce companies battled outbreaks linked to their warehouses and logistics facilities.
Daily new cases back up in the 40s again.

South Korea reported 40 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday more than a double the number reported the day before.
A new cluster was identified at a logistics center of e-commerce company Coupang.
It was reported that a 43-year-old female employee of the center came into contact with a confirmed patient at a birthday party earlier this month.
She then worked a nightshift at the center in Bucheon, Gyeonggi-do Province, on May 12th through to the morning of the 13th.
On May 23rd, she was confirmed with COVID-19, and by May 27th, there were 36 confirmed cases stemming from the center.
The government is looking into whether the center carried out proper measures to protect its employees.
1,920 people related to the center have been tested as of Wednesday morning out of 4,000 that need to be tested.
"We have to investigate the logistics center further to know which part of the center and which roles had the most infections. We're currently still running tests and haven't gone that far yet."
However, there were some areas where the KCDC think the virus could more easily spread.
"We believe some of the places like the cafeteria or smoking areas where masks are removed could increase exposure to employees."
Another logistics center, this time in Seoul, has also reported a confirmed patient.
An employee for e-commerce firm Market Kurly has been confirmed with the virus.
The logistics center is currently closed and will not ship any products that are stored at room temperature.
With these cases, the country's total number of cases currently stands at 11,265.
With no newly reported deaths, the death toll remains at 269.
