Personal liability for deadly car crashes raised to US$ 125,000

South Korea is cracking down on hit-and-run offenders and DUI collisions.
Starting next month, hit-and-run drivers and those responsible for drunk driving collisions resulting in death will be legally liable for up to 154 million won in damages, or about 125 thousand U.S. dollars,... even if they have insurance.
That's under a revision to the country's standardized car insurance agreement.
Up until now the liability for the responsible person was 4 million won, or about 32-hundred dollars.
