An elderly South Korean woman who speaks no English at all... has written 138 letters in English... to send to Ethiopian war veterans.
On hearing that South Korea plans to send masks to Ethiopian veterans of the Korean War, Choi Sam-ja, from Chilgok county, Gyeongsangbuk-do Province, decided to write letters to the 138 veterans still alive.
She wrote that South Koreans will never forget their commitment and expressed her gratitude for what they did.
After first writing the letter in Korean, she had it translated into English, and later handwrote 138 letters.
Over 6-thousand Ethiopian soldiers fought in the Korean War.
Choi's letters and masks are to be delivered to the war veterans early next month.
