UNESCO and the International Council of Museums says 13 percent of museums worldwide could NEVER reopen,... adding that museums have been hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic with nearly 90 percent of them shut down so far.
Marking International Museum Day on Monday,... the agencies said this will lead to a massive job loss for people working at such cultural spaces globally.
The UNESCO chief said museums play a fundamental role in the resilience of societies,... and it's the job of UNESCO to help them cope with the unprecedented crisis.
