The government will inject liquidity into South Korea's aviation industry to help it weather the COVID-19 pandemic.
At an emergency meeting Thursday, finance minister Hong Nam-ki said some of the money from the new 69 billion U.S. dollar COVID-19 support packages will go toward helping Korean Air and Asiana Airlines.
The government is also reviewing additional measures for low cost carriers, on top of the roughly 250 million dollars it pumped into the sector in February.
It will also postpone payments for airport facility fees until August.
