Korean Air employees put on 6-month leave of absence amid COVID-19 pandemic

Korean Air is putting 70 percent of its employees on a six-month partly-paid leave of absence as it attempts to stay afloat during the coronavirus pandemic.
In a statement Tuesday, South Korea's biggest airline the leave of absence will last from April 16th until October 15th.
It will apply to all but some essential employees based in South Korea.
Employees will receive part of their salaries for that period... through the government's employment support fund.
It's also reducing its executives' salaries by 30 to 50 percent from this month.
Since the outbreak, Korean Air has cut more than 90 percent of its international capacity.
