Our top story this morning...
South Korea and Japan are set for a tense showdown at the World Trade Organization in Geneva today... one hundred days since Tokyo began to impose unprecedented export restrictions on Seoul.
Director-level officials from the two sides will be holding face-to-face talks on this Friday.
According to Seoul-based Yonhap News Agency,... Chung Hae-kwan, the South Korean official leading the talks, said he plans to seek early solutions with his Japanese counterpart.
Chung also said he will clearly point out how Japan's actions violate WTO agreements.
But he added that, if the talks do not go well, Seoul will send a formal request to set up a dispute settlement body at the WTO to make a ruling on the matter.
