U.S. imposes visa restrictions on China over abuses of Muslims in Xinjiang

The U.S. plans to impose visa restrictions on Chinese officials... accused of being involved in the oppression of Muslim minorities in the Xinjiang region.
The move follows the Trump Administration's decision Monday to blacklist 28 Chinese entities... allegedly involved in surveillance and detention of the Muslim minorities.
Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said the Chinese government had instituted "a highly repressive" campaign.
Beijing's Commerce Department denied any human rights abuses in Xinjiang and accused the U.S. of meddling in China's domestic affairs.
The Trump Administration's latest actions came just two days before high-level trade talks between the U.S. and China are set to resume in Washington.
