Reports say more than 20 people have been rescued from a North Korean fishing boat that collided with a Japanese patrol ship today in the East Sea.
According to Japanese broadcaster NHK, the North Korean fishing boat sank completely into the water after clashing with Japanese patrol ship at around 9:10 local time.
Authorities still aren't sure how many people were on the boat, but they say the North Koreans were fishing illegally in what Japan claims as its exclusive economic zone.
North Korea claims the waters as its own.
