Japan marks S. Korea's Dokdo islands as Japanese territory in annual Defense White Paper

Japan's new defense white paper has again... wrongly labeled South Korea's easternmost islands of Dokdo... as Japanese territory for the 15th consecutive year.
The document, adopted Friday,... also mentions for the first time the possibility of dispatching fighter jets to the airspace above Dokdo in case of a conflict.
In response, Seoul's Foreign Ministry strongly protested Tokyo's wrongful claim,... urging Japan to acknowledge that this does nothing at all to help the two countries' relationship.
Earlier this afternoon,... the Foreign Ministry summoned a senior diplomat from the Japanese Embassy in Seoul to lodge a formal protest.
South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff also summoned the Japanese military attache this afternoon.
