Adding fuel to the fire... as South Korea-Japan relations remain sour over diplomatic and historical issues....
Japan's Defense White Paper has marked South Korea's easternmost Dokdo islands as Japanese territory for the 15th consecutive year.... falsely claiming Dokdo as its territory.
The 2019 Defense White Paper...adopted by Tokyo on Friday... mentioned for the first time the possibility of dispatching fighter jets to the airs above Dokdo islands.
In response, Seoul's Foreign Ministry strongly protested against Tokyo's wrongful claim over South Korea's easternmost territory... urging Japan to acknowledge that such a move does not help the relationship between the two countries at all.
Seoul's Defense Ministry is also expected to summon the Japanese military attache this afternoon to lodge a formal protest.
