Hyundai Motor Group will create a joint U.S. venture with a global automotive technology firm,... for the development and sales of autonomous vehicle technologies.
The group announced Monday,... that it will sign a contract with Aptiv PLC, in New York Monday local time.
The group's affiliates, Hyundai Motor, Kia Motors and Hyundai Mobis, plan to invest a total of 2 billion U.S. dollars in the joint venture.
The new firm will be headquartered in Boston,... with technology centers across the U.S., and Asia, including Korea.
The Hyundai Motor Group says its goal is to have a production-ready autonomous driving platform by 2022.
