U.S. designates S. Korea as nation that engages in illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing

The United States has made a preliminary decision to designate South Korea as a country that engages in illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing.
It calls on Seoul to adopt tougher regulations on its fishing boats.
According to South Korea's ministry in charge of oceans,...Thursday's decision came after two South Korean fishing boats failed to comply with regulations of the Convention for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources while operating near Antarctica in 2017.
It marks the second time South Korea has been designated as a preliminary I-U-U fishing nation,... after the EU made a similar decision in 2013.
South Korea has been applying tougher regulations on overseas fishing since 2013,... fining violators over 820-thousand US dollars.
