USFK respects Seoul's decision to seek early return of base ownership

The U.S. Forces Korea says it respects South Korea's decision to take back ownership of American military bases on the Peninsula.
In a statement released Tuesday... the U-S-F-K said it remains committed to cooperating with the South Korean government... to return the U.S. installations to the South Korean public and local communities as quickly as possible.
Among the 80 American bases in South Korea... 54 of them have already been returned.
Discussion on returning 19 of the 26 remaining bases are on-going... while talks on returning seven bases have currently stalled.
