The U.S. government has approved the sale of 800-million dollars of helicopters to South Korea.
The Pentagon's Defense Security Cooperation Agency in a statement on Wednesday said.... it had approved the potential sale of twelve MH-60R Multi-Mission Seahawk Helicopters... as well as the associated radar, navigation and communication equipment.
Through the sale, the agency said,... it expects to support Washington's diplomatic policies and bolster the Korean Navy's anti-submarine and anti-surface missions... as well as secondary missions like search and rescue.
Seoul's Defense Acquisition Program Administration said,... it's currently reviewing several proposals including the Seahawk helicopter... and will announce the type of helicopter it will purchase by early next year.
