5 people, 630,000 farm animals dead from heatwave this year

The Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says this year's heatwaves have killed 5 people and 630-thousand farm animals.
The agency said from late May to early August, roughly a thousand people suffered from heat-related illnesses such as heat exhaustion and heat stroke, and those cases included the three deaths.
This is a sharp drop, though, from the same period last year when Korea experienced its hottest temperatures on record, and 38 people died.
On farms, the animals that succumbed to the heat the most were chickens at 580-thousand deaths, followed by ducks and pigs.
